Concord moved its permits online through a Citizen Self Service portal. For homeowners, that means permits filed in recent years should leave a digital trail you can use when answering insurance questions.
Use the permit portal
The city’s permit portal information page explains that building, zoning and many other permits go through the portal, and the building applications page lists application types. Keep your own copies of:
- Roof and chimney work
- Heating system changes, including wood or pellet stoves
- Electrical service upgrades
- Additions and finished basements
Wood stoves and chimneys come up often in New Hampshire underwriting. Have installation and inspection records ready.
Flood hazard rules
A 2018 draft flood hazard revision shows the city’s floodplain rules referencing the FEMA Flood Insurance Study and rate map for Merrimack County. Because that document is a draft, confirm the adopted rules with Code Administration. If you are near the Merrimack River or a brook, ask about a separate flood policy. We do not determine flood zones.
Winter coverage questions
Concord winters bring ice dams and freezing risk. Ask how ice dam leaks are covered, what heat conditions apply when you travel and whether roof damage from snow load is included. See our roof damage question and fallen trees question.
Next step
See the New Hampshire guide and our Manchester and Nashua pages. Then call for a free quote. HomeInsurerQuotes.org connects callers with a licensed insurance agent; carriers, pricing and eligibility vary, and not all callers qualify.
By phone
What happens when you call
A conversation lets the agent ask about your specific home instead of relying on a generic online estimate. There are no online forms to fill out.
Describe your home
Share the address, size, age, construction, and roof or system updates. You do not need every detail to start.
Talk through coverage
Explain what you want covered and ask about limits, deductibles, and exclusions that apply to your property.
Compare and decide
Ask for the written quote terms and compare them before deciding. A call or a quote does not start coverage.
